Local Candidates To Stop Trying To Sell Their Homes In Anticipation Of Running For Office Next Year

December 27, 2013

A recent trend of having councilmembers who ran because they “loved Roselle Park so much” immediately leave town after selling their houses has grown into having sitting members of council sell their houses and move out of town a la Marc Caswell. Not to be outdone, our illustrious Mayor raised the bar by trying to sell his house a year before running for council and then eventually, mayor.

Seeing that as a winning strategy, this coming year both political parties are scouring the real estate pages waiting to see which homeowner won’t be able to move in order to have them run for 1st ward or council-at-large or even mayor.

A political partymember who wished to remain unnamed said, “Look what it did for Accardi! The guy was on his way out and ready to cash his chips in but when that failed, look how things turned out for him!”

Another partymember retorted, “Look how things turned out for us.”

Well Parkers, to paraphrase Mayor Joe II, these people are what Roselle Park politics is all about.
