RP Dresses Up As X-Mas! Council Gets Pissed Off!!

November 1, 2011

Continuing the hardline tactics that have become all-too common with the current governing body, Emperor Joe II canceled Halloween and convened a special meeting with the governing body to not only formalize the cancellation but to impose a fine on Roselle Park for dressing up as Christmas when it snowed on Saturday.

“To my knowledge, Roselle Park never applied for a permit to dress up as Christmas and we’re just following the laws as they are on the books which allows us to not only fine Roselle Park but impose a penalty which we feel would be adequately addressed by canceling Halloween this year,” Mayor Joe II read from a prepared statement.

During the comments councilwoman Tanya Torres, who had her microphone on, yet again, mumbled, “Did anyone consult with me about having the town dress up as Christmas? I bet it was an advisory committee that did this! I wish everyone would just shut the hell up! Where’s my water?”

During the vote, members of council regretted having to go this far but something needed to be done to teach Roselle Park a lesson. After the vote came back unanimous and members of the press asked the mayor exactly what law was being violated, he quickly answered as he left his seat, “Strong council, weak mayor. Strong council, weak mayor.”
