In a move to save money, RP-TV has decided to go online as an Internet Radio podcast.

The new director of the program said, “In this day & age, all you need’s a computer and a good USB microphone. I’ll even forgo my stipend in order to help the kids.”

The RP-TV program was cut from next year’s school  budget but it’s not dead in the water.

“We’re going to use an Audio-Technica microphone and Audacity & AVS to edit the programs. Kids will still get the experience in broadcasting and editing for about $100. Much less than the $50K! They programs’ll go online and be available as free downloads so everyone in town can catch up on the news.”

But the news director has bigger & better plans in store. “Making a podcast is just the first step. With YouTube and Vimeo we’ll move up to making broadcasts again and using PC editing software to cut the broadcasts together. It might not be everyday but it’ll be at least 3 times a week. That’s better than nothin’!”

Some students are eagerly awaiting news on the development.

“That’s off the chain!”, a student exclaimed, “We can get some Flip cameras & do guerilla-style filming & editing to get stuff out there!”
