To coincide with the retroactive 2% salary increase that was awarded when the BOE ratified the teachers contract last month, the RPEA announced that in September the teaching staff will teach an extra 2% to make up for what was not taught during contract negotiations.

Instructing 4% more for the calendar year 2013-14 to make up for last year, the RPEA plans to catch up and then go back to teaching 2% more every year until the contract runs out in 2015. After then, they will teach the same amount until the new 3-year contract is ratified.

“Great! Now I gotta learn two more things or four more things?!? Or do I have to learn twice as much or four times as much?!?!”, asked a student when told of the increase, showing the need to teach math gooder.
